We're back at The Phat!!

Now that Dave and the boys have called it quits for the forseeable future, Faux Fighters are your only chance to experience the majesty of the Foos playing live.

Nelson's Phat Club have asked us back to make their Xmas Party a huuuuuuuuge one so get your tickets quickly as this will no doubt sell out like the last show.

It's a slightly different 2 hour set to the last Nelson show and it rocks like a good 'un for sure. All the greats are in there so be prepared for a loud one.

At last..!!

Nelson's most anticipated Phat Club gig has been confirmed for Sat 9th August.

It'll be a full Foos show with tunes spanning all 6 studio albums and maybe a few others besides.

It's gonna f*cking rock so get in quick and email us to get tickets.

Faux Fighters and Hong Kong!!

It's official..Faux Fighters must play Hong Kong.

I'm on my way to a mate's wedding in Mauritius (Indian Ocean) and whilst laying over at Hong Kong, got talking to some rather drunken locals in one of the bars closest to the airport. The Foos were mentioned, so the Fauxs were mentioned and the next thing I know, we've got 20 or so inebriates screaming "All my life" very enthusiastically at me!!! Well it sounded more like "All my rife" but you get the picture.

Al and I should arrive back in NZ at around the same time so prepare for some real life Fauxs noise soon. They should be able to hear us in Hong Kong...

It's official..Sam's not the only Faux Fighter with a "golden larynx"!!

Friday night..Stingray..Sam acoustic set..much alcohol..foreign mental health specialists..more alcohol..Little Rock..more alcohol..8 in a small sedan..then Singstar for the first time with a 7.30am finish.

Al astounded us all with award winning renditions of "Rio", "Don't forget about me" and "Dakota", to name but a few. Watch out Sam...Als' thinking of shaving his head.

Muchos thanks to Karlijn, Eve, Cindy and Brandon for being the best groupies ever!

The difference between drummer and bass players..?

It's very simple...

A drummer knows which way to face whilst sitting on the dunny.

We often have to help Al with the two difficult choices available to him.

However, he can now count to five without anyone's help, which is a great achievement for him as his bass only has four strings. It's also very handy when it comes to playing "Times like these".

Sticks are made to be broken...

It's not really surprising that drummers get bad press and most of the singers groupies secondhand! they are just such simple animals, who are easily pleased and humoured!

Faux Fighters skinsman Bruce "Mac the sticks" is once again living proof as he exits from playing his latest gig. Is this a Potafoo?

Alas, it was of course the very first Faux Fighter fauxto shoot. Its not easy trying to be serious, look cool and sophisticated when yer around this lot, especially the mad Londoner on the left, not to mention Mr Chaos himself, Justin, who is equally at home playing the fool.

Bloody good afternoons entertainment tho and a great laugh.

Oh yeah, we took some photos too! :)

The drummer has finally worked out how to blog. And you thought all he could do was hit things...hard.

Faux Fighters - The Colour and the Shape of the Foo Fighters

Well, rehearsals have been intense, frantic, energetic and electric to say the least, the final line up for "The Fauxs" has been completed with our own "Dave Grohl", Sam Wilson, who joins our other guitarist, the mad, fifty fingered Justin "Chris Shiflett" Thompson and founder members Bruce "Taylor" McGregor and Alan "Nate" Pritchard in the thundering rhythm section.

With most of the hits now rehearsed and tightened up, we are working on other Foo's greats from their monstrous albums and eventually most of the songs from "Skin and Bones" the live acoustic masterpiece recently released.

The sound of the Foo Fighters is also being paid high attention too as well, who wants to hear a Foo Fighters band (no, I'm resisting using that horrible overused word tribute - I hate it!) that can't even be bothered to replicate the sound?

Sam and Justin have worked and studied hard to get the right sounds and are now working on amp setups to get the best working configuration, for authenticity and ease of use.

Bruce, using his astounding Roland TD20 kit, has Taylors bangs and crashes to a tee! He just wishes he could have the same energy! :)

Alan meanwhile, is emulating Nates solid approach and sound to the bass with his Musicman Stingray, although Nate uses Fenders mainly, but Alan has not played with a pick for many years and is now going to try this form of string attack.

With a New Zealand tour planned for the late spring/early summer, we still have plenty to do and arrange, including PA systems and a lighting rig, although hopefully this will be hired to suit whatever venue is being played.

Support bands will be sought out from venue locations nearer the time.
